Rundown:
The Oilers went 7-2-2 over the month while OKC went 6-2-1, so it was a good month all around for the entire Oilers organization. Good balance between youth and vets, speed and size, throughout the Oilers and OKC. Goaltending has been superb at both levels. Khabibulin has a 1.12 GAA, while Dubnyk is at 1.98 GAA, Danis is at 2.17 GAA and LeNeveu is at 2.22 GAA. The GAA also tells me that the defensemen and center play has been superb as well, at both levels.
Shopping list: Oilers
- Owen Nolan, 'nuff said. Play him with RNH and Hall and play Eberle on the 2nd line and all of the sudden the scoring has more balance to it, along with the fact that Nolan has old man strength. If not Nolan than someone like him, essentially a power forward that can shoot right and shoot often.
- Waterbug Dman. Cam Barker is it this year kinda by default. If they can find a Lubomir Visnovsky type clone here, the offense would improve substantially.
Shopping list: OKC
- LH shooting Dman. OKC has 6 out of 7 Dmen that shoot right, which must be hell when they are trying to figure out who's going on the power play. Probably could use two of these. Chorney getting scooped on waivers this month hurt them here.
- Enforcer on the farm. Could use someone with a bit of fisticuffs to help Tyrvainen amplify his banging and crashing style.
