Shots On Goal - Oilers 17 Canucks 42

Game Notes:
- Thank goodness, last game of the year. For some, its the end of year 2 of the rebuild, for others it was year 20. For me, year # doesn't matter much. All I know is that its been a good, long while since I've seen the Oilers playing a meaningful game. Right now, the Oilers must feel like they are standing on a coast looking into the ocean, trying to figure out how to get to the other side. Everyone has blueprints and plans, heck I've got plans of my own. Whats needed now is a collective, unified thought that everyone can agree on and understand, and then move forward. The Oilers came in and rolled out of this game. Couldn't produce a lick offensively, Roberto Luongo got himself a Chris Osgood shutout and the rest is history. The Oilers agitators tried to "stir the pot" but it wasn't sustained. Canucks were playing not to get hurt, Oilers were playing to get the heck out of there, and what you end up with is one ugly hockey game. Hopefully, come September, this team looks very different, from top to bottom, but the logo stays the same.

Player of the Game:
- Darcy Hordichuk. Tied for the team lead with 7 hits in under 6 minutes of action. Was the only player outside of Dubnyk who played with a pulse. It was likely Hordichuk's last game of the year with the Oilers. Tried to stir things up, but nothing was happening for the Oilers tonight.

Goat of the Game:
- Ryan Whitney. I should just stick everyone's name in a hat and pick one. I'm singling out Ryan Whitney tonight, not just for tonight, but for his end of the year play. Its been subpar and not veteran worthy. Much like that of Horcoff, Smyth, Belanger, Hemsky, Khabibulin, Gagner, and on down the line. I really get the feeling there are a lot of players on this team that just can't stand each other. It really shows in there play and playing for their teammates. A chemistry change is needed, to go along with an enima.

End of the Season, See ya in September Oilers!
