Game Notes:
- A pretty dreary afternoon performance from the Oilers this afternoon. Fatigue really hit the team hard and they faded badly as the game went on. A decent first period turned into a lethargic 2nd period into an ugly 3rd period. To be honest, trying to find a POTG in this game is gonna be real tough. The Oilers limp home, going 1-6 on the road trip. That should put the kybosh on any playoff talk this year and the thoughts of playing any meaningful games come March is now non-existant. Jordan Eberle was the latest victim to fall to the injury bug in this game as he left the game early in the first period with an apparent leg injury. The Oilers lost Ryan Whitney, Tom Gilbert, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle on the road. Like I said, really rough road trip. Dallas played like Dallas does, stingy defense and oppurtunstic on offense. Not much more to sat other than, "Oilers, go home!"

Player of the Game:
- Sam Gagner. Ugh, geez I don't know. I'll give it to Sam Gagner only because he was the only "plus" player on the day, added an assist on a gritty drive to the net. Gagner seems to be playing a lot tougher these days, even though he is a little miscast in the role he is playing. Still, kudos to him for playing hard during the road trip, even though Gagner's POTG is one of the weaker ones I will give out all year.

Goat of the Game:
- Ladislav Smid. Sloppy game from Smid today. Mismanging the puck, doing a lot of standing around and misreads. Smid was a big factor in the 2nd and 3rd goals against. Either he was shooting pucks into shin pads or whiffing on the puck altogether. Smid was like most of the team, flat out tired. The will to win is really low on this team.

Next Game - Wednesday January 11, 2012 vs. Devils @ Rexall Place on TSN 7 PM MT.
