Shots On Goal - Oilers 21 Flames 34

Game Notes:
- Dog of a game. Nothing more, nothing less. Its games like this that make losses to teams like Carolina look even worse. The Oilers had nothing tonight. No jump, no muscle, little will to win. The OIlers played a smart defensive game, but when you score 0 goals, its really hard to win those games. Just as expected the Gagner-RNH-Eberle was snuffed tonight, as was the rest of the team. No muscle, no beat Calgary. Welp, now the Oilers get until Thursday to relax and recoupe and some fun in the sun in Phoenix to get ready for the Coyotes. There isn't a lot of surprise in this game. It was essentially the same game that Calgary has been beating the Oilers with over the last 5-6 years with. Calgary gets up for these games and are ready, Edmonton can't and don't. What can one do. Until the structure of the team gets resolved there will be plenty more losses like this one to Calgary. In the meantime, enjoy the flash and dash, all sizzle, no steak type team the Oilers have.

Player of the Game:
- Devan Dubnyk. He's about the only player I can give it to as he was the only one that held up the forcefield until it eventually gave way. The Oilers played well defensively and Dubnyk was a big part of that. Offensively, the Oilers had nothing tonight.

Goat of the Game:
- Jordan Eberle. Looked tired tonight. Whiffed on a lot of shots and just looked bagged trying to check his man. Got beat by his Dman when Iginla rocketed a one-timer on the 2nd goal. I wasn't impressed with anyone that should have been bringing offense tonight.

Next Game - Thursday December 15, 2011 vs. Coyotes @ Phoenix on Sportnet Edmonton 7:30 PM MT.
