Shots On Goal - Oilers 30 Wild 27

Game Notes:
- The Oilers played well early, had massive brain cramps in the middle frame and brought it late but just could not get the equalizer tonight. If the Oilers could find a way to get rid of the lethargic losses, losses like tonight would be easier to take. But a loss is a loss and the Oilers record since November 1 is 8-16-1, a record that will get you thinking of highly regarded 2012 prospects. Its hard to be too miffed about a game like tonight. The Oilers had their chances to tie it up, but failed to capitalize. Just one of those games they failed to capitalize when the game was on the line, including a 6 on 4 to end the game. The defense and goaltending was subpar tonight. Khabibulin looked tired and the defense couldn't stop the puck rolling towards the Oilers net. Defense needs to keep the puck moving forward by any means necessary, they didn't do that tonight, often chasing the puck. Andy Sutton suspension came to an end tonight, I'm guessing Teubert draws the short straw next game. 0 and 2 to start off the 7 game road trip.

Player of the Game:
- Taylor Hall. He was in pure beast mode tonight. Competed like a champion, chipped in with a goal and an assist. Was relentless on the puck all night. He had the high motor going. Hall was getting double shifted with The Nuge and Eberle, as well as, Lander and Eager. Playing the with Lander and Eager has some possibility as I wonder how Hall would play if he had a power forward flanking him. I think it would give him more space to operate. At any rate, solid game from Hall. Love it when he plays like he does tonight.

Goat of the Game:
- Theo Peckham. Peckham needs to keep his game simple. Pucks in, pucks out and keeping the puck in the front of you. A few times tonight where he tried to corral a puck and it got away from him that resulted in a couple of goals against. Needs to have a better stick that can bat pucks out of harms way. I like Peckham and his relentless toughness, but he needs to find the right balance of playing tough and using his brain. He needs to be better than he was tonight. The Oilers can't cover the mistakes that Peckham makes.

Next Game - December 31, 2011 vs. Islanders @ New York on Sportsnet West 11 AM MT.
