Shots On Goal - Oilers 32 Predators 32

Game Notes:
- I do believe scoring early has become a secret to the success of the Oilers. The Oilers scored early, forced the Predators away from the dump and chase game, scored on the power play, and the result is a 6-2 beating of the Predators. This game tonight against the Predators was about as polar opposite as it was last night against the Stars. The Oilers did not score early last night, were pounded into oblivion, and were forced to play catch up all night. For a young team, they do play with a lot of confidence with a lead, which is strange because its usually a sign of a veteran team. What I thought this team would thrive in is comnig back from being down, which they have struggled with all season. They do live and die with the first goal of the game. The Oilers has some interesting duo tonight. I liked the combos of Hall-Horcoff, RNH-Eberle, Jones-Belanger. Paajarvi-Lander. If the only the Oilers had a larger forward with a bit of scoring touch to put on each of those lines. Obviously, Ryan Smyth would be one of those players, but they could use 3 more robust folks. Perhaps Ben Eager can join the masses, whenever he decides to throw a hit. The Oilers take their Jekyll and Hyde gig onto Minnesota for a Friday afternoon affair, a place they never win (I think its at 17 losses in a row in Minnesota). Who knows what Oilers team will show up there. All in all, good stuff by the Oilers, collecting themselves, showing up in Nashville and taking two points.

Player of the Game:
- Jordan Eberle. Its high time I give Eberle a POTG. He's been playing well for awhile but someone always seemingly plays a slightly better game than he does. Time to give props to the guy riding shotgun. Scored a couple of beauty snipes that has been his trademark since coming into the NHL. He and Nugent-Hopkins are really starting to establish some chemistry.

Goat of the Game:
- Ben Eager. Feel free to throw a hit anytime. If there is anything the Oilers need you to do, its hit. Eager got some love by playing with Paajarvi and Lander in a quasi offensive role. They only played 8 minutes and were on the ice for the last goal of the game with 20 seconds left, to likely ruin that lines night. Just gotta come back stronger, but Eager has to find some body contact back into his game.

Next Game: Friday, November 25, 2011 vs. Wild @ Minnesota on Sportsnet West 2 PM MT.
