Pre-Game: Exhibition Game #5 Oilers vs. Flames

The Oilers head to Calgary to finish off the back to back set against the Flames. The Oilers coming off a 2-1 win in Edmonton on some late game heroics from Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The Oilers iced a battle laden lineup than the one that faced the Canucks. It will be interesting to see if they go with a more vanilla lineup this time around.

Paajarvi-Horcoff-Omark
Hamilton-VandeVelde-Eberle
Cornet-O’Marra-Hartikainen
Hordichuk-Brule-Petrell

Smid-Potter
Barker-Plante
Peckham-Fedun

Dubnyk
Roy

Interesting lineup. Not a lot of goal scoring ability outside the first line and Eberle. I think its Omark's time to sink or swim. He needs to produce something tonight or he might end up at the bottom of the lineup next time. Dubnyk should be getting a full game tonight, should be interesting to see how he holds up, he should be busy. I would like to see Brule get a chance with Eberle. I don't think the Oilers view Brule as any more than a 4th liner. I'd be surprised if the Oilers can pull out a win with this lineup. A pairing of Barker and Plante is a recipe for disaster. Nice to see Fedun get a look on the backend. Some players are probably getting their last look this preseason as its time to get the roster down to a manageable number. OKC should be starting to fill out its team shortly.

Game Time - 6PM MT on Sportsnet West from Calgary.
